PrintNanny OS 0.6.x is live!

The sixth iteration of PrintNanny OS (codename: Feldspar) is packed with quality-of-life improvements.

What's New?

Timelapse Videos

You can now use PrintNanny to record videos in .mp4 format. Videos are automatically backed up to PrintNanny Cloud.

Start a recording:

  1. Open PrintNanny OS Mission Control dashboard > Camera tab
  2. Click/tap the Start Recording button.
  3. Click/tap the Stop Recording button to end the recording.

Manage automatic video backups:

  1. Open PrintNanny OS Mission Control dashboard > Settings menu (gear icon)
  2. Click/tap the Camera settings tab.
  3. Enable/disable Save recordings to PrintNanny Cloud
  4. Click/tap the Save button to apply your settings.

Workflows are coming in version 0.7.0, which will add more automation options for timelapse recordings. Examples:

1️⃣ When a print job starts, start a timelapse recording.
2️⃣ When a recording is finished, upload to YouTube and share a link via Twitter.

Improvements & Bug Fixes

A whopping thirty-three issues were reported and fixed in 0.6.x, making this the largest batch of quality-of-life improvements released to date!

Patch highlights:

  • JPEG camera snapahots now available @ http://<hostname>/printnanny-snapshot/jpeg
  • Files written to /etc now persist through PrintNanny OS upgrades, just like files written to /home.
  • Mission Control dashboard now shows a "PrintNanny is starting up..." message if services are not ready.

New: Monthly Plans

You can now purchase a monthly subscription to PrintNanny, starting at $9.99/month and $19.99/month.


New: Invoice Billing

Custom software integrations, support packages, and enterprise partnerships are available with invoice billing.
